Gas recycle facilities

Gas recycle facilities

Description

Gas recycle facilties for a reactor system are often a pre-requisite for process R&D in, e.g. catalytic hydroprocessing of oil distillate fractions. Strata have an in-depth process knowledge and operational experience of reactor gas recycle systems, so as to directly simulate commercial operations whilst reducing operational costs associated with gas make-up utilities e.g. H2.

Features

  • Gas recycle systems require marriage of several pressure vessels e.g. 3 phase separators, gas measurements, light ends coalescers, gas sampling and wet scrubbing according to needs

  • Variable gas flow rates via compressor or diaphragm pumping systems to effectively study gas recycle rates on process parameters, with on-line gas sampling techniques if necessary

  • Gas make up from storage utilities to reactor system for mass balances purposes

  • Option for sampling on-line of recirculating gases within reactor system.

Benefits

  • Operational efficiency of recycle facilities, with optimised utilities for make-up gases

  • Reduced cost for gas make up relative to once through gas operation

  • Efficient liquid and gas separation within recycle system to prevent liquid carryover and/or contamination issues

  • Options for high pressure gas scrubbing, with caustic, amine or water media if required.

Technical information

  • Operating pressure to 200 barg

  • Operating temperature from 100 - 550 °C

  • Reactor volume systems >150 litres.
